They’re not all good

Excuse me, she says, I don’t understand
Your words came together, but

the imagery stood gleaming, all by itself
inaccessible mountains, lonely and vast

there wasn’t a picture matching the scene,
walls made of glass without any streaks

everyone spoke, yet nothing was said
in all the same voice with a glance at the end

people were laughing, without any funny
a fist fight up front without any slight

I’m sorry, he says, you don’t understand
it’s all very good, right here in my head.

  1. Onion says:

“everyone spoke, yet nothing was said
in all the same voice with a glance at the end”

Describes a few meetings I have attended (okay, maybe more than a few).

“I’m sorry, he says, you don’t understand
it’s all very good, right here in my head.”

May I borrow this one? I find that I am quite fond of it.
