Okay, now that I’m actually talking about my story, I think it’s time to give it a name. I’ve got a working title for the multi-book (still feels weird to use that word for what I’m doing) project, and that’ll stick because it works. Anyhow, after careful deliberation, I’m going to give it a working title of War of Shadows. I don’t know if I’ll stick with this name, but for the moment, that’s what I’ll call the story.
If you name it (a meaningful name, as opposed to an arbitrary moniker) it becomes your “baby” and you run the risk of losing some of your objectivity. Save the name for last, for the moment you have done all you can for your intellectual progeny and lovingly boot it from the nest to make its way into the wider world.

Excellent advice sir, I’ll take it. I’m not convinced the working name I’ve picked is particularly meaningful anyhow. Oddly, now that I’m thinking about it, associating the story with a name seems to weigh into how I think about it. Perhaps it’s just best to think about it as ‘the story’ for the moment.
